US businesses · business use only · not available in California or New York

Merchant cash advance requests from $100 to $5,000, for business use only. You must be 18 or older and authorized to act for the business.

Merchant cash advance · Revenue Purchase Agreement

Not a loan. A purchase of future receipts, at one fixed cost.

A funder pays your business a lump sum today and buys a set portion of the receipts your business will take in. What you remit is a fixed amount agreed before you sign. It is not interest, it does not keep running, and it is never expressed as an APR.

01

The total is fixed on day one

The cost of an advance is set by a factor: the advance multiplied by it gives the total your business remits. Move the two tracks to see how the fixed total and the fixed cost change together.

Fixed cost of the advance
$750

The number does not grow. In this example the business remits $3,250 in total, however many business days that takes. At an example share of 10% of daily receipts, every $100 the business takes in sends $10 toward that total: a slow day sends less, a busy day sends more.

Illustrative example, not an offer or a quote. This is not interest and not an APR. Actual amounts, factor, remittance share and schedule come from the funder’s Revenue Purchase Agreement.

02

Remittance moves with your revenue

Most funders collect a share of daily or weekly receipts, or a scheduled debit from the business bank account. With a share, a slow day sends less and a busy day sends more. The total stays the same; only the pace changes.

Example week: on days with higher receipts more is remitted, on a closed day nothing is remitted, at an example share of 10% of receipts.

Two more, while you are here: an advance is for commercial use only, never for personal, family or household needs, and the funders in our network do not offer advances to businesses in California and New York.

Who this is for

Businesses with revenue and a gap.

Small businesses and self-employed owners who take in money every week and need working capital now. A merchant cash advance between $100 and $5,000, for the business and only for the business.

  • Materials for a job that pays out next month
  • A van repair that keeps the crew on the road
  • Stock ahead of a busy weekend
  • The gap between a late invoice and payroll

Funders generally look for a US business or self-employed owner, 18 or older and authorized to act for the business, with about 3 months in business, about $1,500 in monthly revenue and a business bank account. Not for personal, family or household use, and not available in California and New York.

How it works

One request, then the funders come to you.

PathToFunding is not a funder and makes no funding decision. We are the step between your business and the funders who do.

  1. 01

You tell us about the business

An amount and a name to start. The full request is a few short questions about your business and its revenue, and takes about two minutes. Nothing to scan.

  2. 02

    It goes out once

Your request reaches the third-party funders in the PathToFunding network together, not one after another. Each decides independently. You answer once instead of filling in four separate applications.

  3. 03

    You choose, or you don't

A funder that is interested sends its own terms. Read the Revenue Purchase Agreement, compare the fixed total and the remittance schedule, and walk away from anything you do not like. There is no obligation, and asking costs nothing.

A US business, about 3 months trading, about $1,500 a month. Two minutes.

Before you sign

The agreement is the product.

Two funders can price the same advance very differently, and the only way to find out is to read the Revenue Purchase Agreement each one sends you. Here is what to look at.

A person signing a document at a desk

Nothing is binding until you sign a funder’s agreement, and you can decline any offer without cost.

  1. 01

    The fixed total you remit

The purchased amount in dollars: the advance times the factor. It is the one number that compares cleanly between two funders.

  2. 02

How and how often it is collected

A share of daily or weekly receipts, or a fixed debit from the business account, and on which days. Know what leaves the account before you sign.

  3. 03

    What happens if sales drop

Look for the reconciliation terms: how to ask for remittances to be adjusted to your actual receipts, and what the funder needs from you to do it.

  4. 04

Every fee, stated as an amount

Anything deducted from the advance or charged along the way, in the agreement, before you sign. If it is not written down, ask for it in writing.

Who pays for this

Not you. Not before, not after.

A funder compensates us when a request we passed on is funded. That is the entire business model, and it is why asking costs nothing.

It has a consequence you are owed: it may affect which funders receive your request and in what order. It never changes the terms you are offered. Those are set by the funder, looking at your business.

PathToFunding never asks you to pay a fee in advance in exchange for a promise of funding. If anyone contacts you claiming to be us and asks for one, by wire, gift card or prepaid card, it is not us. Tell us at help@pathtofunding.com.

Questions

Asked before, answered plainly.

Something not here? Write to us. A person reads every one.

How much can my business get?
Requests run from $100 to $5,000. What your business is offered is a funder’s decision, made on its revenue and its bank activity, and two funders looking at the same request often land in different places. That is the argument for asking once and letting them answer together.
Is a merchant cash advance a loan?
No. A funder buys a portion of your business’s future receivables under a Revenue Purchase Agreement and pays you for them up front. What you remit is a fixed cost agreed before you sign: the advance multiplied by a factor. It is not interest, it does not keep running, and it is never expressed as an APR.
How is it paid back?
Usually as a share of your daily or weekly receipts, or as a scheduled debit from your business bank account. With a share, remittances move with your revenue: a slow week sends less. The total stays the same. The funder’s agreement sets the method, the schedule and how to ask for an adjustment if sales drop.
Who qualifies?
A US business or self-employed owner, at least 18 and authorized to act for the business, with about 3 months in business, about $1,500 in monthly revenue and a business bank account. Funds are for commercial use only, never personal, family or household use. Funders in our network do not offer advances in California and New York. Meeting these points does not guarantee an offer.
Does checking affect my credit score?
No. Checking your options here is a soft inquiry and does not affect your credit score. A funder may verify your business, its bank activity and the owner’s identity before it makes a final decision, and it will tell you what it checks.
Is there any fee?
None from us, at any stage. PathToFunding never charges you and never asks for a fee in advance in exchange for a promise of funding. A funder’s cost and any fees are set out in its Revenue Purchase Agreement before you sign.
What happens to what I type?
It goes to funders and marketing partners in our network so they can contact you about your request. We do not sell it as a list. The privacy policy lists every category, and you can stop email from us at any time from the unsubscribe page.

Ready when you are.

$100 to $5,000 for your business, free to ask, and checking is a soft inquiry.
